CVA APEX

REDEFINING THE INTERCHANGEABLE BARREL RIFLE

The new APEX is, quite frankly, the best break-action, multi-barrel interchangeable rifle system on the market today. Just by shouldering the APEX, the serious shooter will notice a vast superiority to its competitors in both balance and fit. But the real test comes with the shooting. And it is in the shooting that two very important features make the APEX really shine. First, every APEX barrel is made by Bergara Barrels TM , which are among the most accurate production barrels made in the world today. Second, APEX’s ambidextrous butt stock is designed specifically for scope shooting, with a height of comb that positions the shooter perfectly in line with the optics. The result is a rifle that shoulders and points as naturally as your favorite shotgun – just like it’s an extension of your body.
As for versatility, the APEX can be quickly and easily set up with a wide range of Bergara Barrels in 13 different muzzleloading, center-fire, and rim-fire calibers. Plus, every APEX features CVA’s patent pending E-Z Open TM breeching mechanism, which, due to its trigger guard actuation, is extremely simple to operate. And its innovative trigger design provides an incredibly clean, crisp pull, and is adjustable from approximately 3 to 5 pounds. Every APEX also includes a Quake® Claw® sling and a custom DuraSight® Z-2 Alloy TM rail mount.

STEP ONE – BARREL STRAIGHTENING The first step to a precision Bergara Barrel is to begin with a straight bar of cylindrical steel. We inspect and straighten every barrel manufactured to a deviation of less than 4/1,000 (or .004”) of an inch. Many barrel manufacturers never even evaluate this aspect of a barrel and consequently hinder the barrel’s accuracy potential. Once the steel bar is straightened, the bar moves on to the deep hole drilling machine where a four spindle machine precisely drills the correct diameter hole.
PRECISION STEP THREE – BARREL POLISHING While most other barrel manufacturers move directly from deep hole drilling to the rifling process, all Bergara Barrels pass through three separate honing spindles. The honing spindles utilize diamond-tipped bits that polish the barrel’s interior surface to a mirror-like finish with a groove diameter deviation of less than 9/1,000 (or .009MM) of a millimeter. It’s the same result that many gunsmiths accomplish by hand-lapping a barrel.
PRECISION STEP FOUR – BUTTON RIFLING The final step to producing a Bergara Barrel is the button rifling process. A carbide rifling button is drawn through the barrel to produce the rifling grooves at the appropriate twist rate for each caliber. The result of this four-step process is a precision barrel so accurate that you’ll never go back to your original factory barrel.
PRECISION STEP TWO – DEEP HOLE DRILLING
